Pergamon

Once the most famous and magnificent city of Asia Minor.

In the Aegean region, at the crossroads between Europe and the Middle East, Pergamon was an important cultural, scientific and political center. Founded in the 3rd century BC as the capital of the Attalid dynasty, its monumental temples, theaters, porticoes, gymnasium, altar and library rose over sloping terrain enclosed by an extensive city wall. Its acropolis crowns a landscape bearing traces of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires, above modern Bergama.

Hip Travel combines Pergamon with Ephesus and the Aegean coast in itineraries focused on classical antiquity.
